Can the A's get any luckier?

Recommended Posts

Based on their run differential their XWL is actually 33-13 instead of 30-16.  So yeah, they're actually playing even better than their already MLB leading record.

Feels like its going to be one of those years where we win 94-95 games and the A's win 100.  Even though its super early, pretty much anything could happen over the next 120 games.

He failed because they called him up to pitch at Coors Field in his first year of professional baseball. Dude wasn't ready.

Preach it...

Rockies were extremely careless, even stupid with how they brought him up.  Beyond that, he may just have been one of those guys who wasn't made to pitch in Coors.  His minor league peripherals predicted much much more than he showed as a MLB player, including his time in that other launching pad at Colorado Springs.

A's deserve a lot of credit for seeing a guy who needed to get out of Co., and pouncing.

Its frustrating as hell that they keep finding ways to win. It sure would be nice to pick up a game or two in the standings while the Angels are hot. Let's take it to them them in the next series! If the Angels want to gain ground they are going to have to do it themselves.

Norris and Moss are beasts.

Jaso, Lowire, Crisp, and Cespedes are quality players.

Their bullpen is sick.

Even without their top two pitchers going into the year (Parker and Griffin), they're still getting great performances from starting pitchers.

They're a good team. At this point I think it's foolish to call them lucky. Beane just does an amazing job with that team year in and year out.

Except for the 5 years between 2007 and 2011 when they failed to post a winning record..   The low payroll narrative makes it easier to spend 5 years reloading without the constant criticism other teams endure.

this true. You still gotta draft smart and develop the farm system though and not mess up guys development. The royals, pirates (til now), orioles, Rockies, padres, etc have sucked for years and picked high in the draft every season and still dont have anything to show for it.
