We choked today.

However, the officiating was once again absolutely abhorrent. I don't get it. There were calls that absolutely blew my mind. It seriously seemed like they were trying to kill any chance of a Cal comeback in the second half. I know this sounds like sour grapes, but it's not. We lost this game by choking scoring opportunities early in the game.

This is only part of what I was talking about, but it's beyond egregious and absolute BS:

STANFORD DIDN'T HAVE ANY PENALTIES CALLED AGAINST THEM IN THE FIRST HALF and had ONLY FOUR FOR THE ENTIRE GAME.

Look, we ultimately lost this game due to our turnovers, but there's some kind of weird sh*t going on when you score three touchdowns on the same drive and they're all taken away from you and then the team ultimately has to settle for a field goal. Something stinks, and it's not just our defense.

Remember when the head of officiating quit and it was alleged because certain teams (Stanford and Oregon) would bitch about every single call and they had undue influence over the league? I'm starting to buy into that. Dykes must be losing his mind this year with this crap.

At least the Pac12 released a mea culpa at the same time that Ferguson is burning:

AHoles.

I didn't see the Stanford game, but I have seen Cal play a couple of times this season. With more talent on defense they become a major factor in the Pac 12, IMO.

I agree, but I don't know how easy it will be for us to recruit. An improved offensive line would do wonders as well.

This is another mind blowing one. I'll just cut and paste from the source so you all can know what happened here:

"In the first frame you see Cal attempting an onside kick. In the second frame you see the scrum for the ball and Stephen Anderson coming out with it. In the third frame you see him running ten yards away. Yet there is STILL no call by the officials. Finally, in the 4th frame, you see the back judge Joe Johnston and the field judge Jeffrey Yock, who are still trying to untangle the scrum, not looking downfield to Anderson yet INEXPLICABLY signal Stanford ball. Think about that for a second. What is going on? They CLEARLY cannot see a ball let alone who has possession because THE BALL IS NOT THERE. Yet they signal, Stanford ball."
