They are taking those bases off the pitcher, not catcher. When runners beat the throw easily or there is no throw it's because the pitcher is neither holding the runner or being quick to the plate. In two of the steals Detmers burned his pickoff on first pitch allowing the runner a larger lead the following pitches.

Kerry may very well be on the team this year. Jones isn't far behind. 

You're lucky if 20% of your draft picks make the major leagues. 

Just because it hasn't produced a frontline starter or elite closer doesn't make it a bust.
