There were so many depth pieces they could have added to the infield to make the offense stronger in case of anyone struggling. Now here we are…

It really doesnt make sense to me to try and force him into being a starting caliber first basemen. Best case scenario you are using his 6 year clock up on development at the MLB level.

I'm still going to argue that it makes much more sense than signing Belt or putting another veteran piece there.  The Angels need to know ASAP if Schanuel, Neto, and O'Hoppe are long-term solutions.  I personally think letting them see how they play in the majors this year is the way to do it.  If they signed Belt, then they'd be running out a lineup with Belt, Hicks, and Sano on a fairly regular basis.  That's...sub-optimal to figuring out what the team can be in 2025 and beyond.

In general I agree, but that is not what is happening with Sano and Hicks in the lineup. It doesn't really make sense that indirectly Schanuel is taking at bats away from Adell and Rengifo by way of Sano and Hicks. When it comes to Schanuel he is the guy who still has the most room for development and could most benefit from time in the minor leagues.

I know it's only April, but this team blows.

It personally softens the blow for me when I'm expecting a 58 win season anyway. All you can do is laugh at this point.
