That was an interesting stat. Corbin is the first tince they tracked it in 1901 to thrown 6 on an opening day allowing 1 hit and striking out 10.

They're wrong, though.  I posted earlier than Lon Warneke did it in 1934.  He threw a complete game, only allowed 1 hit, and K'ed 13.

Just one game, but it could reaffirm the negative narrative because of how lopsided it was. The Angels now have to play much better the next two games to erase the smell of this one. And try to get some confidence going forward.

Sandoval is doing nothing to diminish my sneaking suspicion that he's toast. My guess is that he finishes the year as the 4th or 5th (best) starter.
