This is a new one on me

I have a 1+ Model 9 Android smartphone. It has been a litany of headaches that I never had with Samsung, with the most recent being this. The back of the case began to separate from the body of the phone. A repair shop told me that it was due to the expansion of the battery (my chief complaint with this phone has been battery life). In other words, the battery was on the verge of completely exploding. I'm going to have the battery replaced in the hope that it buys me a year or two without phone payments, since it will only cost me about $60.

That's definitely a new one to me as well. Any idea why that happened, or just a defective battery?

I had an iphone do that once.  It was because I had the case which added an additional battery and apparently that isn't good for the internal battery.  I'm glad you didn't blow up.

I have met one other person who owns one. I allowed T-Mobile to talk me into one. My best advice is, don't.

My guess is that the battery was crap, but with this phone, who knows?
