They had their chance to gain ground before this series. 3 at home against the Twins and only won one game. That was a back breaker for them. They're not very good, and have no business being in the post season anyway.

Anderson finished 8 for the first time this season. He finished 7 for the first  time this season. In 2022, he finished 7 innings 7 times for the Doyers. Could the difference have been coaching and preparation?

Giolito has cost himself a ton of money the last 6 weeks. He looked like he was looking at a possible long term 9 figure deal.  Especially since there's no draft compensation in signing him. Now, he might have to sign a one year deal and hope he can pitch his way into a better deal next off-season. At least he'll be able to pitch in MLB next year, unlike Urias. That dude was definitely going to get a 9 figure deal.
