Although his true intentions are unknown, Ohtani doesn't seem to have given up on making the postseason yet. He is careful not to say anything that could lead to unnecessary speculation in interviews.

Q: As the number of injuries increased, so did the number of game losses. Is this the season's crux?

So Ohtani is basically saying today's game is a must-win, as well as the two Dodger games.

I am not a hugh Rengifo fan but he is 6 for 18 in his last 7 games.

He has 1 HR, 3 BB and 6 K during that span.

I wouldn't classify that as an automatic out.  

Can he continue at that pace, I guess we will see.

A shin contusion is a simple bruise, cut or wound on the skin. Not a doctor, but I know a possible complication is cellulitis, which is treatable with antibiotics but can on rare occasions develop into something more serious. I know, because I had it. In my case, healing took two weeks.
