Because the left field class isn’t nearly as good as the SS class and they’d improve at two positions instead of one.

The Angels thinking Rengifo is a key player for a playoff run is peak Angels. I've never been high on this guy. Trade him while his value is high. Sign a proven SS and get better depth from trading Rengifo.

Angels are not going to sign a top SS. Top SS want to play on a winner not on team changing owners.

yeah sign aproven SS over 7+ year and 25+ mil per year for them to come here and suck. 

Rather spread that 25+ mil over several players on shorter deals.

I'd much rather see us sign Bogaerts or Trae Turner and add their bat to Trout, Ohtani, Rendon, Walsh, and Rengifo then see what we have.  

I really think we may already have enough pitching in our farm system, and on the roster, to make a serious run at it next season.

Yeah but if you bundle him with a couple other failed prospects and maybe a mediocre prospect or two, you can get a real superstar.

The halos are being sold and will NOT be adding huge payroll, common sense will tell you that. It will be a quiet off season for Angels. Minasian does have his kool-aid stand open for all those who want to drink.

No way, the rotation next season would be Ohtani-Sandoval-Detmers-Suarez-Silseth-Davidson, which is way too thin

Not adding huge payroll, sure, but they have a more attractive price if they win, and he knows that.

Angels seven straight losing seasons and value has gone up. Arte may not be a great baseball owner, but he is a very smart businessman. Ohtani will not be traded this off season. Arte will leave that up to new owner as we all know Ohtani sells tickets and merchandise. None of us know when new owner will be in place. Then and only then will halo fans know direction of this team.
