Here in Prescott AZ, I have been involved with our Challenger team for the last 9 years.  It is the most rewarding team I have had 'coaching' baseball (I have coached since 2000).  The special needs kids are so completely genuine, loving and caring (I actually had one of our kids sing me happy birthday this past month).

The families are so appreciative to have people who care about their kids, who want to 'teach' the basics of baseball and who just want to be involved.  I have had both by children  and my wife help with the team, and this past year my wife became 'Team Mom'.  It is the best experience I have had coaching baseball and working with these families.  

Go out and volunteer...you will not regret it!

Great news, it appears we have two teams of players to have a game. But we need more for reserves and potentially two other teams if we're going to have a tournament.

@cals is going to be our point man for the event at the ballpark on Saturday. He's working with Steel Morris to make sure everything is setup and we have everything we need to make this a successful charity event and softball game.

So looks like we have around 23.  The Miracle League guy has plenty of tickets and really wants some more people to come.

Used to play in a softball league that anyone making it to first had to down a beer. These games never made it to regulation.
