I've had back spasms tried many solutions. One that worked right away was putting be in traction. Got up felt like I had a new back. I tried pills muscle relaxers, went for acupuncture and of course Chiropractor. Alan Iverson was not a big fan of traction he had a big rant about it.

Back spasms mostly need time and rest, that's about it. Depending on the severity, he's should be good to go in a week. Maybe two of it's really bad. 

If there's an underlying problem that changes things. But this is about as minor as minor gets. Not worried.
