It matters for Mayfield, Stefanic and Wade. Maddon wants to get an eye for those final spots.

At this late stage of spring training, it actually gives insight into how they might be used in the regular season and how management is trying to determine who makes the final cuts.  Seems pretty obvious to me.

With the way Maddon manages and speaks to the press, none of this is indicative of anything. He fucks with the lineup and player placement more than any manager in baseball.

That means there’s still time to trade for an actual MLB shortstop?  I’m joking.  I’ve convinced myself Duffy/Wade together will do a solid job.  I’m hoping they both have nice obp and Wade has the speed going for him.
