About Rodon

Rodon might not be the smartest use of funds, but it would be fun.  Angels are one of the better fits, according to Owen McGratton at Fangraphs.

I was pretty resistant to Rodon at the start of the offseason, and still wouldn't feel real good going more than 1-yr for him unless the terms were reasonable, both in money and length (say a 2-yr deal or something with an option), but he makes as much sense now as any option remaining.

I would love Rodon. I think the 6 man rotation would serve him well similarly to how it could help Syndergaard. I would imagine he would get a contract along the lines of 3yr/60mil

no way Rodon is going to sign a 2 year deal unless he's injured right now.  It'll be one year of four/five years depending on health concerns.

Many of my current opinions are based on an assumption that the team agrees that it is time to win now now.

In that context Rodon could be huge for this year and next year.

Guys capable of being truly dominant and dominant right now, are pretty rare.

If you can get this guy into an Angel uniform right now I think you do it.

I think that question is targeted towards the entirety of baseball since DeGrom went in the 9th round. The Angels drafted Cole Calhoun in the 8th round, 7 picks before DeGrom.

He wasnt at the top of the list at the beginning of the off season, but at this point, it makes 100% sense.
