I think Trump was regurgitating a common topic on political discussion boards.

If libs get too crazy and get dangerous, the people that back Trump are generally much, much more capable in potentially violent situations (most gun owners, military, etc.).

It's not really anyone's fault really. There is enough science to reasonably say that politics seriously messes with our brains, if not enough to exactly say how or why. Triggering responses honed when we weren't even this species. Those with enough motivation and not enough empathy for others take advantage of this vulnerability.
