The Angels non-tendered Kevan Smith who wasn't due to make a whole lot of money (by baseball standards). Shaw would be a waste of a roster spot, IMO.  He can be someone else's reclamation project.... someone is likely to give him a ML contract... He doesn't fill a need on the Angels and therefore isn't worth the roster spot, IMO.
