Just to further my point SpaceX was able to "hop" a dummy rocket last night with their new Raptor engine. This is a prototype of the rocket that will go to Mars. It was a huge step in space travel.

SpaceX. This was a test of the raptor rocket that will carry people to the moon and potentially Mars.
