Why are you choosing his last 10 games? If you go by all of May (or better yet the last day of April, the day he took over CF from Bourjos), he's hitting over .370, has 7 homers, OPS over 1.250

He was never in enough of a slump where he had to come back. During the long season, he'll probably have at least one other mini slump, but he end up with a solid season.

He's hitting .368 over these ten games with an OPS around 1.100

 

But you're right, whole month of May he's been great. So let's just say over the last 14 games.

His OPS for the entire season climbed to .912 after that home run. I'm just saying, he's done much better overall since he's taken over from Borjous than he has in those 10 games.

I think Borjous would do great in LF, whereas Trout has shown he is more of a center fielder (even though he lacks an arm).

The point is Trout should stay in CF when Bourjos comes off the DL. It won't happen. Scioscia will put Bourjos in CF and Trout back in LF. Scioscia's got a hard on for Bourjos. He always has. That is why, if Scioscia is still around when Trout is ready to sign his fist big deal, he will leave. Probably to the Yankees.

And saying Trout will leave because Scioscia plays Bourjos in CF over him is laughable.

He never went anywhere. Everyone here just wanted to call him fat.

 

Beating a easy double play on a hit and run pop out (granted it was an awful play by the Royals) says he still has that speed. I would fully welcome anything up to a 7 year 100 mil contract extension right now for him.

Back to Trout, I like the idea of him staying in CF and Bourjos in LF - or at least trying it out. But I don't think Trout's hitting has anything to do with where he's playing in the field. I could be wrong, of course.

 

Trout is now at 2.3 fWAR, tied for third in the majors with Manny Machado, behind only Carlos Gomez (2.8) and Evan Longoria (2.4). Looks like he's heading for #1 again.

NO I don't agree.  I do not believe there should be any correlation with what position you play and how you hit!

He had a "typical" Trout game last night, 2-3, 2 runs scored, HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB.

 

Top ten in AL in AVG, SLG, and RBI. 

2nd in triples, tied for 8th in doubles and runs scored.

11th in OPS, just behind Machado.
