I’m going to say this.  We all saw Upton play D last year and I think our eye test told us he wasn’t very good defensively.  Using the same eye test Hermosillo is much worse.  Granted neither are as bad as the eye test, but god Herm looks like shit out there.

Lamb has been terrific. Not just his stats but his stuff looks really good. I’d love it if he finally put it all together and got a spot on this team

He's pretty good in CF and RF, but LF has been rough for him since he was drafted. In all fairness, he's made some outstanding grabs out there in conjunction with missing some catchable balls. And the sun and wind are absolutely brutal at the SEA/SD ballpark. He isn't the only one struggling with LF. Even the M's own LF have struggled with it this Spring, though not the Padres OF's oddly enough.

I think he starts the season In the bullpen.

I figured it was something like that.  He will have to be a passable left fielder before he can be a 4th outfielder.
