Meyer probably won't pitch at all until after the break and that's why they optioned him. Just adds a pen arm

Meyer has actually shown flashes of being really good. Still inconsistent but the stuff is there and if he ever fixes his control issues, could reach his potential and be a late bloomer.

So JC gets an extra start?   Not sure why that's necessary.  The more Meyer pitches, the better he's gonna get.  Unless they are shutting him down through the break.  

Morin brings no value other than the fact that he add bullpen depth.  But it isn't very good depth.    

Why not just give Meyer a scheduled relief appearance for 3 or 4 innings on the 9th?  

Probably has no effect so whatever.

The Angels don't need a 5th starter until the 29th (for some inexplicable reason, they have 2 off days in the week after the All-Star break), so my guess is that he'll be down there for a few starts.
