ironically, shortly after I posted this, I was listening to the audio feed of MLB's "AT BAT" doing the equivalent of channel/ station flipping.

ran across the Chicago White Sox game -- can't remember who they were playing - most of listened to the game for all of five minutes -- during that time the announcers were criticizing the home ump's ball/ strike calls saying they were very inconsistent from pitch to pitch and that the players were complaining seemed upset as well.....

the ump? Doug Eddings.
