No chance this happens now with Maybin on board. I did want him before that move, however. 

He would've brought some serious on base skills, some pop and potentially really solid defense in left field. He's a very nice player now but someone else will offer a 5/75 type deal to bring him on board.

I like Fowler and was actually impressed by him in the postseason. He definitely made some key contributions in that Cubs run. He would look great at the top of the Angels lineup but I agree that it won't happen.

Fowler is way too expensive.  We are going to have to be patient, small steps at a time.  The number one priority for me is building up the farm system for self sufficiency.  If we commit to expensive free agents for longer terms, then we're not giving our system opportunities to help and develop at the major league level.

Again, if you're on a dominating team that just won the first of what could be a few WS titles, why leave? Play well and you'll get paid, but the chance to win a championship is short, and that would matter far, FAR more to me than the money.
