Angels exchange arb figures with Calhoun and Richards

It would be pretty funny if they end up going to an arb hearing with both players and the team ends up over the luxury tax because of it.

I hope it comes down to that.

Both seem to have asked for a bit over the MLBTR estimation.  Where as the Angels have come way way under.  If it goes to Arb, there is a good chance that both may win.

Also, looking at the arbitration eligible people that we have already signed.  I think there was two of them, but they both signed for more than the MLBTR number.

Guess Mlbtr didn't realize how close the Angels were to the tax when they made those predictions. Or didn't realize Arte's heuvos had been cooked to the shrinking point.

Their projections are based on a model informed by historical data--and, on whole, they're pretty darn accurate.  They don't factor in tax issues (nor should they, really, as that's beyond the scope of a model that predicts what someone "should" get based on historical trends).
