Just to keep throwing names out there...

We can go the Oakland route and platoon the two, I don't like either as a whole, but together they can be very productive. Not going in detail with their numbers but here are their OPS + on their split of strength.

Josh Reddick:
2015 OPS + vs righties : 111
Career OPS + vs righties : 106

Johnny Gomes:
2015 OPS + vs lefties : 137

Career OPS + vs lefties : 123

They also provide situational bats off the bench. Not ideal, and personally I'd rather build for a longer term - this still is just a patch for the season. But production wise for 2016 it could work.

Hes a FA after this season if they really want him...but hes not the kind of guy id go cheap on this year just to try and get him next year.

Nobody under Billy Beane is untouchable. They have a big incentive to trade him due to him turning FA next season.

I'd even say that I'd be surprised if he isn't traded this off season or at least by the deadline.

We don't have many pieces to make a significant trade, unless you want to gut an already thin farm system or trade somebody from the big league roster, which Beane probably doesn't want anyway....and that probably hurts the big league club as much as it might help....

A healthy Reddick is a pretty good player, don't know what it'll take to get him though.
