Callaspo, Freese, Beckham, Headley....pretty much the same....it'd be nice to have an above average 3bman but not sure there is one to be had.

Donaldson is a better hitting Freese -- not sure how he is on the base paths (can't be slower than Freese).

But like Freese, Donaldson is really a 3B-DH type-- his glove work down at 3rd is not that great.

But Donaldson has some pop and seems to hit for a better average than Freese -- Donaldson seems to hit well against us any way.

Pablo Sandoval anyone? Would fit in on the left side of our infield w/ Aybar because they both enjoy playing with a wad of tobacco in their cheek.

Just give me a 3B who isn't a statue in the field

maybe if we sweeten the deal enough he'll come out of retirement :)

Plouffe is Joe Crede waiting to happen. Even Twins fans aren't fond of Plouffe.

Does he have a history of back issues?  I'm not all that familiar with Plouffe's issues..   It's a genuine question and not an attempt at snark.

Ok, not in the content of suffering from the same injury issues. But in the sense of showing promise but then disappearing. Maybe Crede is the wrong comparison, but you get the picture. Twins fans here have been unimpressed by him. You could probably put him in the same class as Freese and Headley. His career OBP is Trumbo-esque without the power.

Thanks, wasn't sure at all what you meant.     And yeah, he's always seemed a bit underwhelming.   Third is just a wasteland right now all across baseball.  Panda may be the best option available and he's someone I'd be worried about going NL to AL even with his having performed well in a big time pitcher's park.
