Chris Iannetta frustrates me..

Recommended Posts

He's lazy behind the plate, his game calling has deteriorated and his ability at framing pitches is non existent.

What I've been saying since he arrived. This was all a result of the anybody but Mathis mentality. We should have signed Russell Martin when he was available instead of extending Iannetta. He's one of the best game callers in MLB.

I'd like to see him DH and leadoff.

Yes, leadoff. If he focused solely on that - on taking walks and trying to get on base - I bet he could get on at a .370 OBP clip.

That plate appearance was incredible.

Albert Pujols would set the GIDP record by light years with Iannetta jamming up the basepaths

Meh.. Take the good with the bad. I think you guys are overreacting on his defense and his bat is very good for a catcher.

he's pretty bad defensively.  when most can recognize that he can't frame a pitch properly or block a passed ball or sequence a hitter then I just don't know what to say.

He looked fine to me last year. He's struggled this year, but I think he'll fix it.

Also people sure do love Ibaniez when he's been ****ing awful.

It is especially frustrating when you consider that we knew that we weren't getting a lot of offensive production by bringing him in. His defense was supposed to be his main value to the club, along with his ability to work with a young pitching staff. Tonight I saw a guy going through the motions. It cost us the game.

I think he deserves playing time at DH.

He definitely has value as someone who gets on base.

Our other options at DH are Ibanez, and freese? Both those guys are hitting under .150 with an OPS around .500 right now.
