It turns out that it had nothing to do with SCD, but rather an easily detectable heart defect. It's apparently a common cause of deaths under similar circumstances, relatively speaking. It's shocking that organizations wouldn't test for it prior to allowing participation given that a somewhat cheap echo can detect it.

I have mixed feelings.

Her greatest failing was football, and in almost all respects.

I have read that she wasn't the one that pulled the trigger on hiring Martin when Monty left.

Outside of that, she's performed very well as best I can tell.

She very clearly bleeds Blue and Gold.

I had a few conversations with her in passing while I was a student and she was always wonderful to talk to.

I wonder who her replacement will be.
