Anyone see the end of the Asu game?

Recommended Posts

The way the ending went down probably confused the refs as well. As I recall, the Badgers QB went toward the line and just placed the ball on the ground, which did not stop the clock. ASU players, believing that it might be a live ball, dove on it. The officials had no obligation to help Wisconsin out by stopping the clock.

The part where they screwed up is they blew the whistle and did nothing for 16 seconds. Once they blew the whistle and the ASU guy layed on the ball for 7 seconds it is delay of game.

Once they blow the whistle it is their job to reset the ball and they did not attempt to do it.

No argument here. I just believe that the awkward nature of the play and the indecision by Wisconsin confused the crew until they, too, lost track of what was going on. An Arizona State defensive back said that he had never seen anything like it on a college football field.

Awkward play or not, it's all on the refs. It's their job to get it right, simple as that. If it was a change of possession, the clock should've stopped. If it wasn't, then that's a delay of game on asu. I didn't watch the game, and I'm aure Wisconsin lost that game on their own. But that specific play is on the refs
