Dumping Wells was both unexpected and welcome. Getting something in return more valuable than an empty Taco Bell bag was a bonus. Getting the Yankees to pick up that much salary was epic. Not quite as epic as the Toronto GM suckering Tony Reagins into eating almost the whole contract, but in the neighborhood.

That's closer, actually. I'm not sure the party has died down in Toronto since they got the Angels to take on that whole contract.

 

I'm patiently waiting for the "Making Them Pay" card of Vernon Wells in a Yankees uniform.
