“(Futureangels.com) was unprecedented, not only within Angels fandom but probably minor league baseball.

It was copied, it was imitated, and a few times it was even ripped off. But it was, and always will be, the first.”

That guy's biggest issue was his pettiness and refusal to listen to anyone other than himself -- a total egomaniac.

Years ago a guy that used to post on the AOL message boards, possibly here too (SuperDave), was part of a group that was investing/tinkering with the tech that eventually became the what MLB turned into BAM which led to all the streaming stuff.  Dave had actually reached out to Stephen about trying the tech out shooting video of the prospects but because of said pettiness and past disagreements he turned him down.  When they finally showed the tech to someone with the Angels/MLB and they were told how they had given him the opportunity to use it the guy supposedly responded to the news with "f*cking Smith!" ... lol.

Imagine having been handed the opportunity to work on something like that and passing on it because someone didn't agree with you on an AOL message board.

stephen used to be intimately involved with halo prospects when they came through lake elsinore. he got to know them personally and that immediately clouded his judgement and objectivity. when we had discussions online, he adamantly defended each and every prospect, and that in turn ended up meaning he attacked any poster who had a critical comment about "his kids."

he was easily one of the worst posters online in the early days of baseball message boards. easily.

he had a real take-his-ball-and-go-home kind of guy. as soon as there was any heat on him from the online posters, he'd go into a very defensive attack manifesto and then, ultimately, after making his defense of the kids so aggressive against other posters, he'd be banned. @Inside Pitch, @Brian Ilten, and i knew him from three different angels boards, and he got banned from all three of them. i think he even got banned here from @Chuck

i think his website and his access were finally shut down at some point, too.
