53 (he shares my birthday, though he's four years older)--and he played for the 2001 World Series champion D-Backs!

He scored the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning of Game 7 in 1997 as the Marlins beat the Indians. He was also on base in the 9th inning of Game 7 in 2001 as Luis Gonzales won the Series with a bloop single.

That 9th inning of Game 7 in 2001 was crazy, as Mariano Rivera came unglued. Counsell was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Rivera was human that day.

He's probably in better health than Rendon and played a lot of 3B so sure.

I think it’ll be difficult for the Angels to attract a veteran manager unless Perry is fired or extended.

Is a veteran manager really gonna sign up for a job where the GM is in the last year of his deal?

I guess Maddon did, but that was all Arte.

they are the same 50-somethings with different lineups. 
 

somehow we’d screw up Corbin Carroll though if we had him.
