Moronta isn't going to move the needle. They need someone more dynamic that can also get them out of a jam when needed. I would just promote Bachman and go for broke; its playoffs or bust this year. All hands on deck.

Walsh has no MLB career record of a sacrifice bunt. The last time Walsh bunted a baseball was in 2017 for the 66ers.  It would be nice if Nevin would not lie in the post game interviews when he makes a managerial mistake.

Moronta gets a shot and if he doesn’t work out and gets dfa’d at least we don’t lose anything.  Good strategy in that sense but man the season is slipping away.  Texas is good, yes and the Astros are better but the Mariners just need a little offensive addition or two and they could finish ahead of us.  Remember we’re screwed if we’re not at least second in the division and even then we’ll be battling Eastern Division teams as well.

I saw Moronta in AAA and his first year in SF. Rarely do I see a pitcher and know immediately with complete certainty they're going to be a major league reliever. Usually it's a starter that moves into the bullpen and takes on more velo. 

The only two I remember seeing in in a relief capacity immediately are Reyes Moronta and James Karinchak.
