He has no one but himself to blame.  He walked Correa, who is hitting .201 this year, then pitched from behind the next 2 batters.  Both who had 2 strikes.  Finish the hitters Detmers.  I love him, but he threw 101 pitches in 5 2/3.  That’s not getting it done.

Herget was a great pitcher for the bullpen last year.  For whatever reason he can't get the job done this year. I chalk that up to reliever volatility. However, in a year when we are trying to make the playoffs it looks like the league has caught up to him. We should option him down and bring up someone who the league hasn't seen yet just to get needed outs. Pick someone who has nasty stuff out in triple A or double A that's been doing reasonably well. Eric Torres, or even Bachman. Anyone with a live arm.

We can’t be a playoff team and have this scatterbrained decision making happening on the field.  There’s no continuity on the team.

He should have pulled Detmers after the Buxton hit. He was clearly worn out. Also should have used one of his better relievers in that situation instead of Herget. That's a big moment in the game, go get Matt Moore to get that last out at the very least IMO. Real bad stuff all around

It's a mostly bad pen outside of the last 2-3 guys, along with a manager who is only in that role due to the(at the time) uncertainty regarding the team sale that never happened after Arte had a change of heart! Real shitty situation for this years team

Disappointing is how I view this team. The talent/depth is much better than recent seasons that they should be better but they just shoot themselves in the foot so damn often.
