Dear Brandon Drury

Stop putting pressure on yourself, go back to playing for the Reds last year...play like you have nothing to lose...that's all all we want as you play for the Angels.

Sincerely,

HaloRed

Prior to last season, Drury had negative career bWAR and barely positive fWAR. He's unlikely to ever be as good as he was last year, but hopefully he can find some middle ground between that and his previous results.

Drury, like Anderson, doesn’t need to be as good as he was last year, probably career years for both….but if they are anywhere close, they’re worth the cost….

Renfroe is similar to Upton in that he's extremely streaky and will do nothing for multiple weeks and then turn into the greatest hitter ever for multiple weeks right after. I'm not too worried about him. Drury was clearly a product of getting to play in the HR derby ballpark in Cincy, like many others before him(Cozart and Scooter Gennett immediately come to mind). Not expecting much out of him but I'll still take him as depth over the crap the Angels trotted out last season

If Drury doesn’t hit, Rengifo can play second full-time.  Gonna need Walsh back.

Read all your posts, thank you, gents

For what it was, Drury was eye-popping with the Reds last year.  Then, he was traded to the Padres for their playoff run, now he's here.

But, the Padres changed his role while HE WAS THE GUY in Cincinnati.

Considering the matter, mental pressure displacement since the Reds...let's just keep reminding him...

HE'S THE GUY HERE. For 2B the most scarce power position (and those numbers he put up in Cincinnati last year)...No role-playn, Minasian, Nevin, he's your 2B.  Give it to him!

both Drury and Renfroe look like they're squeezing the sawdust out of the bat right now.  Personally think they'll both be fine once they relax a bit.

Early season jitter, sawdust glitter, shake the cobwebs out...no doubt
