Hot bats since the break

I thought I'd share this as there have been some surprising and encouraging hot bats since the All-Star break:

Ward  .455 BA  .500 OBP  1.409 OPS

Fletch .391 .417  1.025

Mayfield .273 .385 1.021

Marsh .364 .417 .871

Lagares .429 .429 .857

Stassi .250 .308 .808

Iglesias .316 .316 .737

Eaton .333 .333 .733

Great beginnings for Marsh and Eaton, really nice to see Taylor Ward off to such a hot start, and who would have thought Mayfield was capable of an OPS of 1.021 no matter how small the sample size? 

But sadly, the Goose is cooked: BA .083 last 7 days; .154 last 14 days.

I had no idea Ward was doing so well.  I thought we were going dfa him or maybe give him a break and option him.

Likewise, great to see him doing better. It was Ward and Lagares with a higher BA than Fletch that surprised me the most.

Walsh has pretty much crashed over the last 20+ games hitting .216/.242/.398/.639. The league is pretty quick about adjusting to players hot streaks. It is time for him to make adjustments to get back to league average or better.

Because they're playing better teams, three of their four or five best players are out, and the bullpen sucks.

It' like the first week of Spring Training or the season. You'll see the most random of guys start very well..... Then settle in.... Give it another 2 weeks.
