This afternoon it was my wallet. Lost it at the Barrett-Jackson Auto Auction. Had a great time until I discovered it missing. Spent about three hours canceling credit cards and ordering a new driver license.

Man that sucks

It was probably pickpockets roaming the auction knowing there was going to be a lot of people carrying cash. Your search area should have included trash cans.

And, yes, that sucks.

I'm guessing that it slipped out of my back pocket when I was sitting in the auction area. I was seated on the back row, so anyone walking past could have taken it.  Instead of asking me if I had dropped it, the person decided to just take it. I only had $20 in cash, but I had my CPR certification and my COVID vaccination record in it. All of the credit cards have been canceled.

I reported it to security at the LV Convention Center and I filed a police report.

That's why I started to keep my wallet in my front pocket.  Especially since I have no ass to keep the wallet in the back.  Went with a minimal type of wallet so it's more comfortable.  And I only keep one credit card on me at a time, unless I specifically need a particular card like Costcos.

You should be able to access your COVID vaccine info online.

If I had it to do over again, I would have just locked my wallet in the car and carried a couple of cards in my pocket in case I wanted to buy something.

BTW, did you buy a car?  Auction might be the cheapest way to go right now, since used cars are still outrageous.  I bought my sub 2 years ago, and it's dealer buyback price is still higher than what I paid for it.

I bought mine - used - four years ago.

I wasn't a bidder at Jackson-Barrett, if that is what you mean. I went because I had never gone before.

Check out Copart I think they are called.  Used car auction, online and in person.  Most of them are salvages, so after an accident, this is where they go instead of being fixed.  Man, it's weird watching how much absolute wrecks go for, and where they go.  So many go overseas, for high prices.
