RIP. A very talented actor. I enjoyed his work in the Final Countdown among other flicks.

I've showed Spartacus to most of my 7th graders over the years, and it's been one of my favorite films. this is especially sad for me.

I got to meet him at a book signing in Pasadena about ten years ago. kind and gracious.

Paths of Glory, one of the best anti-war films ever made. 

Lust for Life, the story of Vincent van Gogh.

He made a lot of films but these two are exceptional in my opinion.

Ace in the Hole is essential and might be my overall favorite of his movies. Other of noir movies are definitely worth checking out: Out of the Past, I Walk Alone, The Bad and the Beautiful, and Detective Story. Great career and long life.
