His elbow was the first problem.  It's not like ever established much at the major league level.

Shoulder issues > elbow problems.   Sports medicine has come a long ways with elbows but shoulders are still a mystery.   I hate to say it but I punted on him once the shoulder went poof.

I'm still confused as to why people think the Angels are this amazing team. They show signs of greatness but for the most part, they are a mediocre/below average ballclub.  Yes, they are missing Upton and Simmons but it's not like those positions have been black holes in their absence. Eppler didn't build a good pitching staff. The facts are everywhere. Now I do agree that they should be winning more than losing against teams like the M's but it's going to be a long season for you if losing 2 out of 3 to the M's and many other average/below average or bad teams gets you upset.

I think most of us realized at the start of the season that the team had to be damn near perfect health wise and Eppler's signings would have to have semi average years or one of the best in their careers for the Angels to have a shot at the 2nd wild card. That hasn't happened and this is the result.

I have no idea where you picked up that vibe, other than it has been pretty amazing they have won nearly as many as they have lost recently without a bonafide starting pitcher.
