Tropeano has had some success as a back end starter.  His injuries is what has hurt his career.

I honestly think Tropeano's fastball topped out at 91 mph today and when he threw it for strikes, it got hit very hard.  His breaking ball was not sharp either, and because his fastball was spotty, Seattle took advantage and stole bases on him.  I honestly think that is going to be Tropeano's achilles heel in the bigs.  Below average arm strength and too heavily of a reliance on his breaking stuff, much like Weaver.

Career wise, when he has been healthy, Tropeano has been generally ok, not great by any means, very average....Cahill and Harvey, on the other hand, have both been all over the place--really good and really bad and everywhere in between...obviously both really bad this year....

Tropeano has been with us awhile now and he only had 1 good stretch (of only a few starts) where he performed like a possible middle to back of the rotation starter.
