Do we still have a National Guard? We’re obviously in the middle of an ar 15 crisis. Seems like the short term solution would be to secure the schools. If you believe legislation is the ultimate answer, you still need an immediate fix. Libs ain’t serious about security or protecting kids. This is just another social media campaign to change an election narrative. We can criticize police in action but the liberal leadership isn’t doing a damn thing to change the school situation on the ground. Hell you have full control of the government. Where is the emergency session to iron out gun restrictions? Where’s the executive order ? Yes Biden lacks the authority but it didn’t stop Joe with vaccine mandates. Right now this is playing out just like every other liberal bs theatrical performance. Hell libs can assemble thousands of thugs to burn a city with just a few hours notice. Where  are the peaceful liberal protesters? Let’s have an unarmed show of force and surround our schools with a liberal security force.

There are  enough libs in aw to secure a couple of schools. Be the change you seek. All these brilliant liberal ideas can’t sit empty on an aw message board. Our police  desperately need your bravery and law enforcement expertise on the ground.

Ruger mini-14 sales skyrocket

That’s the thing with dumbass politicians and liberals. Most don’t have a damn clue about weapons and believe the ar 15 is some super weapon. Hell the military is moving away from the m4.  They ignore the fact that the free market and criminals are always a step ahead. Both will find a way to meet the demand for arms. The end result will likely be a  huge black market and a generation of more lethal weapons finding their way into homes.if you’re going to make a 5.56 rifle illegal, I can see people moving to fully automatic high powered black market weapons.

What Do Most Mass Shooters Have in Common? They Bought Their Guns Legally.

"From 1966 to 2019, 77 percent of mass shooters obtained the weapons they used in their crimes through legal purchases, according to a comprehensive survey of law enforcement data, academic papers and news accounts compiled by the National Institute of Justice, the research wing of the Justice Department."

“The reality in this country right now, is that anyone who wants to cause harm to themselves, or do someone else harm, can easily acquire the means to do so — legally,” said Fred Guttenberg, whose 14-year-old daughter, Jaime, was killed in the school shooting in Parkland, Fla., in 2018.

“Based on what we know about Buffalo, the system seems to have been followed, but the problem is with the system itself,” he added. “The reality of life in America, the big problem, is that these people don’t have to jump through enough hurdles to get a gun.”

I would assume most illegally bought guns are by minority criminals who are doing it to commit property crimes, gang crimes and for their own safety, not murder 2 dozen elementary school kids. Say what you will about thiefs, thugs and gangsters but they generally aren’t shooting up movie theaters or schools because daddy left and mommy is too overbearing or too absent.

Some word choice aside, I generally agree with this, which is why I think it's absurd that some people try to claim that more restrictive gun laws wouldn't prevent things like what happened in Uvalde and elsewhere.  As I've said earlier, if it's harder for people to gain access to weapons that can easily cause mass casualties, then it'll be less likely that mass shootings will occur.  There will potentially be more time for people to reconsider their actions or cool off, more time for someone else to catch on to what they're planning (assuming it's not a heat of the moment decision), etc.  That doesn't mean that stricter gun laws are going to solve everything--but they're certainly a step in the right direction.
