The 12 Days of Christmas is not only a popular Christmas Folk Song, it is the celebration of time between the Birth of Jesus (1st Day-Dec. 25) to the arrival of The Wise Men (12th Day--Jan. 5th). In Latin America, particularly the Las Posadas, do not open their gifts until Jan. 5, because the 12th Day of Christmas is when the Baby Jesus received his gifts from The Wise Men.
