I share your concern. I'm sure DiPoto is feeling the heat and could do something desparate, like trading Trumbo, to try and save this season and his job.

But what can be done? I'm sure they're taking the patient approach, figuring that this can't keep going on. We've had a lot of key injuries and if the bullpen can be shored up, we would probably stop losing. 

 

Unfortunately, Oakland and Texas have started to run away yet again so management has to weigh how patient can they be.

Trumbo is one of the players to keep for a rebuild.

This rebuild will likely have to be long in duration, because we have few tradable players and need to keep them.

Trumbo has to be the strongest trade chip we have, and as others have mentioned I think it would be dumb to trade him.  He's a legit power hitter, and a hard worker. The team needs him.

I actually think Bourjos is both more trade-able and less valuable to the Angels. Less valuable because of Trout, and more trade-able because he's an elite defensive center fielder who looks like he's turning into an above average offensive player. He's a 5 WAR type of player and other teams can see that value.

The Angels need so many holes filled. You have to give up young major league ready talent if you're going to rebuild. Trumbo and Bourjos are the best pieces the Angels can deal
