I for one, think Trouts swing is spectacular.

I agree with both of you... Trout has a spectacular swing and Griffey had the prettiest.

My theory: The BBWAA ruined him. He wanted to win the MVP so badly, and he knew they wouldn't vote for him just for being an all around great player. He had to become a traditional slugger.

Ken Griffey Jr. is my favorite player. I'm convinced that he would be the home run king and have even more records if he was able to stay healthy. Trout is on his way to being one of the best but he has a ways to go in terms of matching Griffey Jr. He definitely will never have as pretty a swing.

Trout wasn't "ruined" - I would never argue that. But yeah, he is a different player. What remains to be seen is whether he can continue to develop. I mean, who knows - he could .330 with 45 HR in a couple years. Or he could have settled into a .290, 35 HR player.

Always respected him, think hes first round one hall of fame and in the argument for GOAT.. but he owned us....badly...

Its not personal hate, its job related so to speak. Im just still not over the 90s
