More like **** the regular paying students so the NBA and NFL can have a free minor league system.

They get what they paid for.

 

They also don't generate the kind of income and publicity that athletes do.

Don't most minor league baseball players only make like 40k a year?  Considering that is the cost of a university now then it isn't that ridiculous.

 

Also - it isn't like the universities just pocket the money.  The money goes to coaches, facilities, education, etc.

Of the top 20 stadiums by capacity in the country, only one - the Giants/Jets stadium in New Jersey - isn't a college venue. This wouldn't be the case if colleges were losing money on athletics. They are just very clever at creating expenses to hide just how much they actually make.
