Will we suck next year if we win WS?

Look at how far the Red Sox have fallen. If I remember correctly, 2003 was pretty bad too. Don't get me wrong, even if we suck for a couple years after, it's worth it for another title- I just hope this season is the beginning of another string of playoff runs and not a one-hit wonder

And if we don't win the World Series this season as the favorites we should fire Scioscia.

How are the Angels favorites with a 3 man rotation when 2 of them (Wilson & Santiago) suck? If the Angels make it to the World Series it will be the greatest managerial feat of all time. If they win Scioscia reaches deity status for winning without any pitcher better than a number 2 starter. Their only chance is if Shoemaker is able to bounce back and even then that is a rotation of two starting pitchers and a shit ton of relievers trying to patch holes.

Yep. I don't care if we lose 100 games the next three years if it means a world series title this year.

Really?

Hmm. I'd gladly take several playoff appearances over a WS championship followed by multiple crappy seasons. Sounds like it's time for a pole!

if we get eliminated as a result of a moronic squeeze play (or other similar shenanigans) after having the best record in baseball, that might not be a bad idea

Except that it's time for a poll.

Poles are for strippers and flags. In that order.

Speaking of flags, they do fly forever.

Actually, the 2002 Angels and the 2013 Red Sox are somewhat similar in that both WAY over-performed and caught lightning in a bottle, as evidenced by 2003 and 2014. The 2014 Angels have a lot of talent and should be good again next year.

The biggest question is the rotation - when will Richards be back? Can CJ find the strike zone? Can Santiago become more consistent? Is Shoemaker legit? I also wouldn't be surprised to see Dipoto go after another starter and possibly a third baseman. So it shouldn't be hard to get back in the 90-95 win range.
