Five For Fighting: lead singer is a hockey fan and avid Kings fan so he named the band after a hockey reference. Years later Ducks fans will bitch and complain when they preform at the Dodgers Stadium game, Kings vs Ducks.

One of the bands I played with occasionally was named, "Queezenfeesh."  A couple of the guys were just starting to experience the other sex, and the name 'sprung' from the visual of a male-part after sex...

 

It was changed rather quickly to "Naked Ape."

Yeah, I was more than a little disappointed when I found out "Five for Fighting" was a piano band, instead of hard rock.

 

I like their music, just feel like the name was wasted.
