They showed a highlight of the PBJ catch in a earlier highlight reel. If your talking about trout's catch in Baltimore I'm pretty sure that would have been on last year's ESPY's since it happened in June of last year

It should be either Trout or Manziel. Trout is probably the best, or second best player in baseball. Can't say the same about Wilson, Kaepernick, or Puig, so they shouldn't be in the running.

Yeah I'm not too sure of all the nominees and awards either but Berman just said the ESPY's calendar is from July 1st to July 1st. Clowney or that half court buzzer beater will most likely win the 'best play' award

Well, because it is from July 2012 - July 2013. He hadn't won the ROY award yet, nor was he considered to be one of the top 3 baseball players at that point with about two months under his belt (which is why Puig being nominated is a little funny). The point being that it isn't a season by season thing, it's a calendar year starting July 1st.

Wilson took his team to the 2nd round of the playoffs and played solid football all year long.

Kaep took over a team that was a favorite to win the SB before he was even the starting qb for like half a season.

Manziel didn't even play at the highest level of competition.

Puig has played like 5 weeks of hot baseball.
