What's more pretending to be American than pretending to love baseball? Actually I think Mr Reed is an elitist more than he is ignorant. A lot of people try to fit in by talking out of their own element. That doesn't really make him ignorant. Thinking he can say whatever he wants and never be questioned does make him an elitist. Especially when he knows he is lieing.
