It could be 10,000 tickets sold, with 1,000 people in the stands, and ownership still wouldn't care, because he's getting big bucks from the TV contracts, and the sale value of the team is going up.

I imagine Goodrum will be gone as soon as Rengifo is back.  I doubt they'll do anything between now and then, since they'd just have to replace whoever the fill-in-the-gap player would be once Rengifo is ready.

Matt Moore has now given up runs in 6 of his last 12 outings.  Hope he can right the ship so he can have at least some trade value later on.

Rock bottom just sunk to another level. Sad more than mad. 

Considering how terrible the Cards have been,  with a putrid offense, this was like an episode from the Twilight Zone. Especially with Soriano cruising for half the game. 

One common factor seemed to be poor pitch location with all the relievers. Many pitches around the middle of the plate, thigh to waist high. 

Gubi was in a state of disbelief, repeating how Cimber escaped a big inning with a double play and that should have been enough to keep things steady. He and Randazzo tried to stay poised, but you could tell from their voices that they recognized that this was a microcosm of how the season has gone. More dramatic than usual, but still a train wreck. 

To add a insult to injury, the Cards manager pulled every trick he could to gain an edge and disrupt the pitcher in a critical moment. And the umps just let it go on and on. As if they forgot they were in the middle of a crucial at bat. Two games in a row that he's doing stuff to save his job. 

Washington said that the team is learning with every loss. Tonight they must have just taken a post doctorate course.

Not really.  The starters have the 4th worst ERA in the AL, they're next to last in walks per 9 innings, and they're 9th out of 15 in FIP.

Fortunately, the Angels get to face the Rangers next.  The Rangers are currently on a 4 game losing streak which started with being swept by the Rockies.

Then on to Houston, where the Astros are only 1 place ahead in the standings.

Actually these kinds of series' are the ones where the Angels help wake up the struggling teams, and typically lead them on to a hot streak.

We're going to get crushed.
