Beats me.  Yesterday, it was Lagares, now this.  I fully expect the Angels to re-sign Justin Upton tomorrow at this rate.

So they call up a guy today, so if and when they sign Lagares they can release this guy or see if he clears waivers. Who goes down?  Someone else has Covid is my guess.

Whitefield wouldn't need to clear waivers in that scenario. They could just send him back down, unless I'm missing something.

That’s true. He’s a guy that would probably clear waivers as well.

Mayfield goes down, Lagares is not ready and was he signed on minor league deal? Get Jeff on the phone. Is big trade coming for Xander or Montas? Big message for Adell Minasian wants DEE FENCE. What happens when Duffy comes back? What do you do with Fletcher? Is Detmers on thin ice? Raisel, Loup, Tepera and Ortega have pitched great for back end of bullpen. Mayers and Herget lately have looked good. Barria is rested and remains in pen and Bradley coming back so pen looks solid. Minasian have big trade coming?

Whitefield is fast and a good defender in the outfield. He had nice splits in AA so far and he fills a much needed role on this team. Token Australian dude.

There's some spillover in AA with guys like Whitefield and Cabbage, both of whom could easily be in AAA.
