Seems to me to be the opposite of steroids. He didn't sustain greatness well into his 30's as he would have and he didn't get the types of injuries you would associate with steroids. He got old, his feet and knees gave out but because he signed the long, backloaded contract he's sticking around much longer than he would have had he been year-to-year. Being 2 years older than he claims is entirely possible but not a forgone conclusion
